Florence & The Machine - You've Got the Love
When looking at this music video by Florence and The Machines, i counted approximately 103 different shots. I realized that the shots became faster and shorter when the song had a fast pace, and when the pace of the song started to slow down, the amount of shots decreased and lasted a longer duration. Aswell the transitions created different feelings and atmosphere, the slower parts in the song had smoother transitions and when the song speeds up its more jumpy and quick. Throughout the music video there was a high amount of meat shots, i believe this is due to there not being very much narrative so it tends to show her singing to create a different effect. You can see alot of different emotions when looking at some of the different shot this works well and highlights more atmosphere throughout. This video is amplification, as it still retains a link to the song but doesn't illustrate the lyrics.
